
The Union of South American Nations (Unasur) promotes consulting sessions with all the governments of the region concerning the situation of Brazil, reported the Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro, Tuesday.
The Venezuelan President stated that from the regional block, protection actions will take place towards the democracy of the Brazilian people and former president Dilma Rousseff, separated temporarily from her presidential post by the Senate in what has been considered a parliamentary coup d’état.
“We are propitiating consultations so that, with democratic balance, the governments of diverse ideologies that belong to Unasur take accompaniment measures to the Brazilian democracy, to the Brazilian people, and to legitimate and constitutional president of the Federative Republic of Brazil,” Maduro specified.
Maduro remembered that Venezuela, pro tempore president of Unasur, assumes this role in a difficult moment, to protect the forces and currents that propitiated the revolutionary transformations in South America, which today confront the onrush of imperial sectors that trying to dominate the region.
