Trinitarian Gov’t Assigns Budget to Fight Crime

Trinitarian Prime Minister Keith Rowley announced that his administration will invest 17.5 million dollars in police material to fight crime in the country, it was said here Monday.

This amount of money, will be useful to develop the Intelligence and Information Collection Section in the Trinitarian national police, in order to guarantee the security of the Caribbean nation.

Rowley alerted on the each time greater number of police reports on violent incidents, going from revenge murders between organized crime bands, up to domestic violence actions.

He pointed out that the commitment of his government, is to revert the situation, so he underlined the intention of his government to work with the opposition to reach such an objective.

The National Security Council approved the amount of 17.5 million dollars before the presentation of the Trinitarian national budget for the fiscal 2016-2017 at the end of the month.
