The 15th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) on Tuesday denounced the intentions by U.S. congress people to imposed an economic blockade on Nicaragua.
In a declaration from that multilateral body, the countries of that regional bloc ‘denounce and condemn the intention by a group of U.S. congress people, known for their reactionary, disrespectful and interfering stances, to reintroduce a draft bill known as the NICA-ACT in that country’s Congress’.
The communiqué recalls that the act ‘constitutes a perverse intention to impose an economic blockade on the people and the Government of Nicaragua, attempting against the right of that brother country to welfare, security, work and peace.’
‘It is a new threat of many that have surrounded Nicaragua in history,’ the document adds.
The so-called NICA-ACT aims to destabilize a country that lives in peace, a country recognized by its social, economic and security achievements, in a successful political model of alliances and unity in all fields, stresses the ALBA-TCP Political Council.
