Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Samuel Moncada warned Thursday that the United States government, through the State Department and the National Security Council, intends to intensify the attacks against the sovereignty of Venezuela.
Through his Twitter account, Moncada said that these two US institutions requested member countries of the Organization of American States (OAS) – organization in which Venezuela begins its withdrawal process – and of the European Union “to attack the Constituent Assembly and support the coup farce” promoted by extremist sectors of the opposition for Sunday, July 16.
This is not the first time that the US government has attacked Venezuela’s sovereignty. On July 11, US Senator Marco Rubio launched threats against the National Government, stating in his Twitter account that if the National Constituent Assembly is installed, he will force the US government to apply new sanctions against the Bolivar homeland.
Also, on March 28, during a Permanent Council of the OAS, the American nation, through Rubio, threatened different member countries of this body if they voted in favor of Venezuelan democracy.
