Cuba and Russia Reinforce Cooperation by Signing Agreements

Russia and Cuba signed today a package of commercial and economic cooperation agreements in a ceremony in the Moscow’s Hotel President with the participation of dozens of representatives from both sides.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin and the deputy president of the Council of Ministries in Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas, co-presidents of the intergovernmental commission of both countries, initialized the Final Act of the 15th Session of that organization.

Besides, the Russian deputy minister of Energy Yuri Sentiulin and the Cuban vice-minister of Energy and Mining, Raul Garcia Barrero initialized a Russian-Cuban route document to enhance in the energetic area in 2017-2018 period.

Russia and Cuba also signed a memorandum of a strategic association between Russian Railway (RZHD) and Cuban Railway Union (UFC).

RZHD agreed with UFC a project of reestablishment and modernization of railway structure of the island, while another contract was initialized between Russian Transmas Holding and Cuban company Tradex to supply cars-engines.

In the ceremony it was given the go-ahead to a contract between the Russian factory of Sherbinka lifts and Cuban company Maqimport to supply lifts and pieces.
