Another Social Leader Is Assassinated in Colombia

The Colombian Ombudsman’s Office today denounced the assassination of a peasant leader and a member of the Boards of Victims of the Armed Conflict in Magdalena department.

On his Twitter account, Ombudsman Carlos Alfonso Negret Mosquera denounced the assassination and called for an immediate investigation.

‘We condemn the assassination (…) of Jose Rafael de la Hoz Villa, who was a member of the Board of Victims’ Participation’, he said on Twitter.

The peasant leader was found dead in a farm near the community of Las Canoas, in Magdalena department, in the Colombian Caribbean region.

According to preliminary reports, the body had multiple knife wounds.
